I am a ceramicist and oil painter from rural northern California. Having recently graduated with a BFA in Fine Arts, I'm now using my art to explore my own identity and reflect on my experiences using themes of mortality, femininity, and anthropocentrism. My work is often large, figurative and fantastical, combining elements of botany and humanity. I like to emphasize the fact of the world being more than just human.
During my month-long stay I will be allowing myself to explore new ideas and create many drafts. I will use the surrounding nature, fellow artists, and personal experiences relating to aging and illness as inspiration for a series of small oil paintings.
